An atom's atomic mass is the combined mass of its protons, neutrons, and electrons during the atom's rest state. Atomic mass is usually expressed using the unified atomic mass unit or Dalton, which is defined as one twelfth the mass of an unbound atom of Carbon-12 during its rest and ground state.
However, most entries in the periodic table quote the standard atomic weight of each element. This number is the weighted average of the atomic mass numbers of the various forms of that atom that are found in nature.
