"Science" is the name given to the knowledge that has accumulated as a result of man's quest to understand the world. "Science" is also the name given collectively to the methods used for gaining objective knowledge and insight about the cosmos. The methods of obtaining this knowledge have been refined and made more objective and reliable in each generation.
Creationists, differentiate between operational science with origins science. "Operational science" being defined as science which deals with observable, repeatable, and testable phenomenon such as the laws of gravity, the structure of the cell, or chemical reactions. "Origins science," on the other hand, deals with questions of an unobservable nature: hypotheses about events which only occurred once by their very nature, and which therefore cannot be repeated, tested, or observed.
Biology is the science discipline that studies life processes or characteristics of living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, distribution and evolution. The word Biology comes from the Greek word bios meaning "life", and logy which basically means "the study of".
Creation biology is basically the study of biological systems under the inference that God created life on Earth as described in Genesis. As the theory of evolution is found as an integral part of all secular biology fields, it is critical that creationists have a thorough understanding of biology.
Creation biology is premised on the idea that God created a finite number of discrete created kinds or baramin. While these forms of life have the ability to vary, and even undergo speciation, they cannot arise spontaneously from non-life, cannot interbreed outside of their kind, and cannot increase in genetic complexity.
Michael Faraday (1791-1867) was an important a chemist and physicist who was devout in his beliefs as a Christian. He was self-taught while working in a bookstore, and began his work as a scientist almost fortuitously after seeing a lecture by the famous english scientists, Humphry Davy. Soon afterwards Faraday became Davy's apprentice, then was later appointed to be a Chemical Assistant at the Royal Institution. Although he is known mostly for his work in physics, Faraday discovered how to liquefy chlorine, and he discovered benzene.
