Philip the Apostle (Greek: Φίλιππος, Philippos) was one of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ. He was a native of Bethsaida on the Sea of Galilee, like his fellow apostles, the brothers Peter and Andrew. He is said to have preached in Greece, Syria, and Phrygia and was martyred by crucifixion in the city of Hierapolis in Asia Minor.
