Salicaceae is a taxonomic Family of flowering plants, which is commonly known as the Willow family, but also includes the Cottonwood, Poplar and Aspen. It is the only Family of the Order Salicales, and contains three Genera.[1]
Other taxonomic systems (namely the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group) has greatly expanded the circumscription of the family to contain 57 genera.[2]
