Chris W. Ashcraft

Christopher Wayne Ashcraft is a creation scientist, speaker, and educator. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology from Wayland Baptist University in 1989, a Master of Science in biology from Texas Tech University in 1996, and a Master of Education from the University of Washington in 2008. Chris was a research technician for 12 years specialized in plant tissue culture and genetic transformation technology, and is currently a high school science teacher at North Sound Christian School where he teaches Biology, Chemistry, and Creation Apologetics.

He moved from research into teaching in response to a call from God to work in creation science missions. He is firmly committed to researching and teaching creation apologetics and speaks periodically at churches, schools, and creation organizations in the Northwest United States. He is the founder of the Northwest Creation Network and the CreationWiki internet encyclopedia where he serves as senior administrator. He also organizes the Seattle Creation Conference.

Amazing Animals: Design vs. Darwinism

What would the Earth be like without animals? They are indeed a very special part of the creation that provides endless fascination and brings much love into our lives. Previously unknown animals are discovered each year and the complicated world of these creatures has been made clearer by recent scientific discoveries. This presentation will focus on the amazing gifts of animals that illustrate the ingenuity of their design and creative power of our Father in heaven.

New Testament Archaeology

The New Testament records the history of the new Church, beginning shortly before the birth of Jesus. However, this important historic record is under attack by Archaeologists who have claimed that the Biblical account of history is inaccurate. In decades past, well known events, such as the crucifixion, have been challenged on archaeological grounds claiming there was no evidence that the Roman governor Pontius Pilate ever existed. This PowerPoint presentation will review several well known Biblical events and figures that can now be substantiated by recent archaeological investigations, including the very resurrection of the Christ.

Fossils and the Flood of Noah

Secular geologists say there has been no global flood as described in the Bible, but vast quantities of fossils provide a monumental testimony to God's judgment. This presentation provides an introduction to Creation Geology and a characterization of the fossil record that is used to support evolution. Numerous examples of fossils are provided that defy conventional explanation, and instead are more consistent with rapid burial and petrification. In addition, an explanation of fossil sorting is provided that is consistent with the mechanisms active during the Biblical deluge. When the evidence is examined, we see that the fossil record has been misinterpreted by secular geologists who deliberately ignore that the "world was deluged with water and perished" (2 Peter 3:3-6).

Old Testament Archaeology

The Bible contains rich and interesting stories of God's people that span more than 4000 years. However, this important historic record is under attack by Archaeologists who have claimed that the Biblical account of history is inaccurate. Well known events, such as the conquest of Jericho and the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, have been challenged on archaeological grounds. This PowerPoint presentation examines these challenges and shows that when the evidence is revealed, science supports the historicity of the Bible. We will review several well known Biblical events and figures that can now be substantiated by recent archaeological investigations, and see that the Bible is a trustworthy in all things.

Creation Astronomy

This seminar provides a general overview of creation astronomy / cosmology, and highlights important players and resources for future study. It is designed to be given in two 45-60 minute sessions. The first half of the seminar takes a look at the purpose of the celestial bodies, and provides the Biblical foundation and physical proof for a young universe. The second half analyzes Big Bang cosmology and presents evidence which argues against this ideology, and shows how the data instead supports a creation cosmology. It is asserted that the Big Bang is inconsistent with the Biblical creation, and that the Earth occupies a special place at the center of the cosmos.

The Image of God

The human body is a wonder of God's creation that provides many extraordinary examples of intelligent design. Within each of us reside cells, organs, and systems that are interconnected and interdependent in ways that defy evolutionary explanation. Even today, much of what is happening inside the human body is still not fully understood and yet evolutionists hold fast that this remarkable construct developed without God. This presentation will discuss various aspects of human anatomy and physiology which offer testimony to the glory of the Creator and verify that we were knit together and wonderfully made.

Love Your God With All Your Mind

The sermon-style presentation is a hard-hitting look at the War of Worldviews facing Christians today, and examines the factors that have contributed to the secularization of US schools. Also contained within this presentation are numerous illustrations of beauty and wonder made evident by science that offer a testimony to the glory of God, but which haven't been seen until modern times. With evolutionary indoctrination reaching epidemic proportions, these previously unseen treasures provide valuable tools for creation evangelism.

Origin of Life

The origin of life remains the theory of evolution's most significant obstacle. More than 150 years after Darwin published his theory, and following exhaustive efforts, evolutionist are no closer to solving the riddle of how life began. Despite countless attempts using every conceivable condition, biochemists have been unable to produce genetic information (DNA) and/or proteins in a simulated natural environment and thereby show how even the simplest cell could have formed without intelligent design. This presentation will examine the origin of life and illustrate that evolution is simply without a foundation. Life began through the actions of a God of supreme intelligence and creative power - actions that could never be reproduced by mere humans and will never be explained without reference to intelligent causation.

Wonders of the Cell

Cell biology provides many extraordinary examples of intelligent design. Inside each and every organism reside biomechanical systems and molecular machines that Darwin and his contemporaries could never have imagined. Even today, much of what is happening inside cells is still not understood and yet evolutionists hold fast that these remarkable constructs developed without God. These two contrasting views of the cell provide poignant illustration of how worldviews impact our interpretation of physical evidence. This presentation discusses the cell as it relates to these opposing views and describes some of these important cellular features which offer testimony to the glory of the Creator.

Planet of the Apes

Paleoanthropologists assert adamantly that humans are the descendants of ape-like ancestors. Darwin's seminal theory led naturalists inexorably to this conclusion, but the Bible clearly states that we were created distinct from the animals and in the image of God. This presentation examines the evidence used to support human evolution, including Neanderthals and Australopithecines. Are these ancient hominids really missing links capable of substantiating human evolution or has the truth been distorted to support the materialistic evolutionary worldview?

Geologic Worldviews and the Global Flood

Secular geologists say there has been no global flood as described in the Bible, but vast layers of fossils and rocks provides a monumental testimony to God's judgment. This presentation provides an introduction to Creation Geology and a characterization of the geological record. Several important examples are provided that show how strata and canyons can form rapidly rather than over millions of years. In addition, the geologic worldviews that form the foundation for interpreting the Earth's crust are examined to illustrate how historical bias against catastrophism has caused erroneous interpretations of geologic features now know to have been formed catastrophically.

Worldviews in Conflict

While the United States has a firm foundation in Christianity and the vast majority of the population believes in God, we are unable to teach about God in our public schools. This presentation takes a hard-hitting look at the War of Worldviews facing Christians today, and examines the factors that have contributed to the secularization of US schools. In 1 Peter 3:15 we are instructed to "Always be prepared to give an answer," and yet most Christian are unable to defend their faith through logic, reason, and empirical evidence. Using recent surveys and events to demonstrate the effects of evolutionism on society, this message will inspire those who tend toward scholarly pursuits in creation apologetics.
