Jonathan (Hebrew: יהונתן, Yehōnāthān or יונתן, Yōnāthān; "Name means::YHWH has given") was a son of Abiathar and descendant of Eli.
Genealogy
The Bible mentions him in connection with the appointment of Solomon as pro-rex of the United Kingdom of Israel. Abiathar adhered to a rival prince named Adonijah. Jonathan brought to Abiathar and Adonijah the news that King David had pre-emptively nominated Solomon as his successor and had him formally anointed.[1][2] (1_Kings 1:41-48 )
