The primary arguments against theistic evolution are the genealogical record in the Bible, and the plain or historical-grammatical reading of scripture (exegesis). Many theistic evolutionists believe that Adam was not a real man, yet the Bible clearly treats him as such within the books of Genesis and Chronicles, which contain the ancestral record from Adam to Noah. This genealogy is repeated in Luke 3:23-38 from Adam to Jesus.

Those who criticize theistic evolution frequently argue that Genesis is so inextricably intertwined with Judaeo-Christian-Islamic theism as to be inseparable. While the first chapter of Genesis may be interpreted as allegory; the creationism theme runs throughout the rest of Genesis and into the New Testament.

The biblical genealogy of Genesis 5 is not allegorical as some proponents of theistic evolution put forth. The allegorical intent of the specific years and dates given for those people, the year at which they had the next son in their line, and the year they died all imply real people born into this world by other real people. Likewise the Table of Nations and the references to Noah by Jesus and Peter in the New Testament are ways to determine the historical realness of such events and people.

Yom As a 24 Hour Day

It is clear in the Genesis writing that it was the separation of light and darkness that created a Yom. The only natural measurement that equals that of the day/night cycle in Genesis is determined by the earth's rotation speed. So for a Yom to mean a million years would mean that the change from light to darkness would take that long. We know this not to be the case as scientific observation can conclude.

If in fact a million years equalled one day it would mean the earth's rotation would have been to slow to support life. Earth or any planet that rotates that slow would have burned up on one side, and frozen on the other. Furthermore, years are actually established in Genesis 1:14.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Genesis 1:14 (KJV)

So Days were created before years. Besides, you have to have days before you can get years. So the order of the creation of time is correct. Because if years were created before days, then you could not answer how many days it takes to make a year.

Order of Events

The "order" of events proposed by the general theory of evolution is the strikingly different than those of the creation in the book of Genesis. And so is the "order" of the beginning of everything which in scientific terms the Big Bang

The Bible Evolution theory Exact opposite?
1) Earth before sun. 1) Sun before earth. Yes
2) Oceans before land. 2) Land before oceans. Yes
3) Light before sun. 3) Sun before light. Yes
4) Land plants first. 4) Marine life first. Yes
5) Fruit tree before fish. 5) Fish before fruit tree. Yes
6) Fish before insects. 6) Insects before fish. Yes
7) Plants before sun. 7) Sun before plants. Yes
8) Marine animals before land animals. 8) Land animals before marine animals. Yes
9) Bird before reptiles. 9) Reptiles before birds. Yes
10) Man brought death in the world. 10) Death brought man into the world. Yes
11) God created man. 11) Man created God (out of need). Yes
12) Atmosphere between 2 layers of water. 12) Atmosphere above water. Yes
13) All life was created by God. 13) All life just happened, and evolved. Yes
14) There is a Creator. 14) There is no Creator. Yes

There is no middle ground in exact opposites. Because you cannot accept one without totally denying the other. When you choose evolution you also deny the trinity shown below:

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1John 5:7 (KJV)

Evolution of the Soul

The exact point at which God infused a soul into ancient hominids is a point of great speculation by theistic evolutionists. Because at what point would God consider an animal, in the evolution process, a created man in order to get a soul? Some would speculate that animals have souls. If so, how do you present salvation to one? Sounds silly don't it? But this is what theistic evolution makes people ponder because there are no creation rules to God's creation if God used evolution to do it. Man makes the rules, so man ponders on which way the rules can go without referring to God's word for answers.

If evolution was a part of how God created

If evolution was a part of how God created, then it could be used as a gospel subject to accomplish these things:

  1. Holding bible studies to learn more about God.
  2. Having theistic evolution crusades to bring more souls to Christ.
  3. Having theistic evolution missionaries to spread the word about Christ around the world.
  4. Street corner theistic evolutionist preachers.
  5. Tracts that show how theistic evolution can bring you to Christ.

These things do not exist because evolution itself can never be used to promote God, because what is the opposite of God cannot be used.

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44 (KJV)

Theistic evolution cannot draw a person to Christ, when the main foundation of it denies the supernatural to even exist. This is why God the Father will not draw anyone unto the Son through the teaching of this theory. For if it had any God drawing power what so ever, would not it be used for that?

Examples:

  1. Having the drawing power unto Christ means that evolution also has the approval of God the Father for this purpose.
  2. Not having the drawing power means that it is not approved of by God the Father for the purpose of bringing souls unto the kingdom
  3. What is accepted by God the Father (creation) has brought many into the kingdom. What is rejected (evolution) has not.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Matthew 7:16 (KJV)

Good fruit, which is a sign of God's approval, cannot be produced by something God does not approve of. And therefore His drawing power will not be in it either.

Theistic evolution vs. bible scoffers

God's word says there are five things that make a person a bible scoffer.

  • 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
  • 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
  • 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
  • 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 2Peter 3:3-6 (KJV)
  1. Own lusts: Their own ideas that are used to replace what is written in God's word. And they will lust after any means to which they can be made to look true.
  2. Question the return of Christ.
  3. Rejecting God's literal creation (knowingly ignorant).
  4. Denying a global flood (world being overflowed with water).
  5. Perish: Denying the judgment of the wicked due to the flood.

Theistic evolution makes a person have to deny four of the five things listed in God's word. Which makes the theistic evolutionist 4/5 on his or her way to being a full fledged bible scoffer. Just one more thing needed to be denied, and that is the return of Christ. So theistic evolution does mean you are hedging the fence in your belief. According to God's word, it means that theistic evolutionist would rather be mainly on one side of the issue (4/5 of it), and only have 1/5 the faith in God and His word. Can a person be 1/5th saved? What if Christ only went 1/5th the way to the cross for our sins?

Theistic evolution is a Christians introduction to conformism

When a Christian decides to include evolution into his or her personal belief. It requires the Christian to conform to certain views that are not Biblical. The Christian has to decide whether to believe what is written in God's word, or what man claims has happened concerning the origins of everything. In effect they make God conform to a naturalistic creation by denying God's supernatural power to create (denying all degrees of any literal creation). Allowing man's ideas to dictate how God created is also an introduction to Humanism. Where man becomes smarter than God, therefore tells God how creation was done. Placing man's opinions and ideas above God, just as Lucifer wanted to place his throne above the stars of God.

The power to dictate to a supernatural being is a lure for the individual to make his own realities, his own truth, and dictate his own destiny. When God is supposed to control this (the individual replaces God's control by taking control). And because these things are done, the individual soon loses respect for God and His word. And it starts to become no problem to deny everything that does not "conform" to the naturalist-humanist view of everything. And this path can lead to total loss of faith. And is the very reason most atheists-evolutionists have no problem with the belief of theistic evolution because it gives them more power to evangelize the individual to their way of thinking and belief. This is because the individual is already half way to disbelief by denying God and His word, the rest is easy.

Theistic evolution equals fence sitting

Because Theistic Evolution is a in between belief, where the individual can belong to 2 conflicting groups at one time. It's basically fence sitting. It's like saying that we want our sin with our salvation and we refuse to repent because we can justify our belief in our own eyes (refusing Holy Spirit counsel). And regardless of how far we may stray to one side, as long as we have a grasp on the fence means we have not committed to either side. And therefore, some how, this will just barely get us into Heaven. Fence sitting is basically a "lukewarm" life that mocks Christ.

God vs. Genie

Young Earth Creationism allows God to be God by allowing His word to tell us how it was done. So the power of God to create is shown through His word only.

Theistic Evolution allows man to dictate to God how it was done. Therefore Theistic Evolution not only takes the power away from God, but the power of God's word. God basically becomes a Genie having to bow to what man says. Man tries to dictate truth basically making the word a lie by calling it such things as a myth etc... Basically anything to bring doubt to the believer. Which is one of many steps to becoming an agnostic or an atheist.
