The Hominidae form a taxonomic family of primates, including four extant genera: chimpanzees and bonobos (Pan), gorillas (Gorilla), humans (Homo), and orangutans (Pongo). Two more genera is nowadays extinct: Australopithecus and Gigantopithecus.
