The Peshitta (Syriac: ܡܦܩܬܐ ܦܫܝܛܬܐ, mappaqtā pshīṭtā; "Name means::simple, Name means::common") is the standard version of the Christian Bible in the Syriac language, a dialect of Aramaic.
