Anatomy

The flower parts on the Liliaceae family generally come in groups of threes; and the petals of this family are normally teardrop shaped. Lilies have thicker stems than most other genera because of their large flowers. The veins on the stem are parallel. The leaves of the Liliaceae family are linear shaped, which simply means that they resemble a straight line.
