The Book of Baruch (Hebrew: ספר ברוך, Sēfer Bārūḵ; Greek: Βίβλος τού Βαροὺχ, Biblōs tou Barouch; Latin: Prophetia Baruch), occasionally referred to as 1 Baruch, was written by Baruch, son of Neriah, the scribe of the Prophet Jeremiah. It is one of the Deuterocanonical books included in the Septuagint that is considered canonical by Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christians, but apocryphal by Protestants.
