Astrology
Astrology is the belief that the heavenly bodies control our fate.
In Judaism
The rabbis have a word in the Talmud to mean star and constellation worshipers: (Hebrew: עַכּוּ״ם, AKKUM), abbreviation consisting of the initial letters of עֲבוֹדַת כּוֹכָבִים וּמַזָּלוֹת, "worship of stars and planets" or עוֹבְדֵי כּוֹכָבִים וּמַזָלוֹת, "worshipers of stars and planets"[1] that refers to ancient idolaters[2].
In Bible
Moses severely warned the Israelites against worshiping the sun, moon, stars, and all the host of heaven ( Deuteronomy 4:19 and Deuteronomy 17:3 )[3]. Divinations and predictions based on things like astrology are condemned in the Bible:
"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God. The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so." - Deuteronomy 18:10-14
"All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you.." - Isaiah 47:13
"I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells." - Micah 5:12
