Absalom (Hebrew: אבשלום, ʼAḇshālōm; Greek: Αβεσσαλωμ, Abessalom) was the third son of King David. He is most well known for both his vengeance upon his half-brother Amnon who violated Absalom’s sister Tamar and his subsequent rebellion against King David.
