Odonata is a taxonomic order of predatory insects to which belong the dragonflies (Anisoptera) and damselflies (Zygoptera). Both are best known for their remarkable flying capability allowing them to hover and even fly backward, and their voracious predatory behavior during both their nymph and adult stages.
