Reproduction
Mates are located through pheromones. Eyesight plays no part in finding a mate, although they have advanced, well developed compound eyes. Many do complex matig dances. Females start by raising their wings, which exposes glands that produce a pheromone that attracts the male. The male has its own special organ that the female either eats or licks during mating. During mating, the male transfers his sperm packet directly into the reproductive organs of the female.
