John G Leslie
Dr. John G. Leslie received a PhD on September 7th 2012 in the field of Archaeology and Biblical History from Trinity Southwest University (TSWU), Albuquerque, NM. He presently takes part in the annual dig of a biblical site in the Jordan Valley. There he has been studying the human and animal bone artifacts. His association with TSWU has been since 2004.[1]

As well, Dr Leslie has been practicing medicine in a medically underserved area of the Southwest United States for 20 years. He made a commitment to God to do this after he returned to medical school in his mid-thirties. The training for an MD was at Oral Roberts University, with graduation in 1989. He then went to the University of Oklahoma Tulsa Branch to complete dual residencies in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 1993, and subsequently became board certified in both fields. [1]

Prior to going to medical school Dr Leslie completed a PhD in Experimental Pathology in 1980 from the University of Utah. He worked with one of the world’s leading specialists studying the structure and metabolism of Elastin, one of the key structural proteins of the body. After completing this degree he worked at Monash University in Melbourne Australia as a post-doctoral researcher for 4 years till returning to medical school. His undergraduate BS degree was from the American University in Washington, DC in 1973.[1]

Dr Leslie did not become a Christian until his first year in graduate school, 1974-5. Until then he had been rote taught the evolution story. However, his belief in God, which had become a personal one and the marvelous complexity of the structure/function of blood vessels, began to bring doubt into his mind regarding the claims of evolutionists. When he was in Australia he began to hear the teachings of Ken Ham and read the The Genesis Flood by Henry Morris and John Whitcomb. His thinking was transformed. He avidly studied research in the subjects of evolution and creation. Dr Gary Parker’s writings brought him a new understanding in the area of biology. Dr Leslie then began to write several articles on the effects of mutations on life forms and argued against them being of any value to the idea of transmutation (one life form evolving into another). As well, it became clear to him that both evolution and creation, as topics, were world views and not theories or hypotheses. He would write regarding these concepts.[1]

Upon entering the field of medicine his views on the ethics of such subjects as abortion, homosexuality, and in vitro fertilization would be affected by his Christianity, and he wrote on these.[1] Access to many of the articles that he has written are available online at [Defending the Christian Faith.] As well, he and his wife have been involved in various Pro-Life ministries for much of their married life. Their children are also serving God in various ways.

Presently, he has been on archeological digs in the Jordan Valley at a site named Tall el Hammam. It is considered Sodom by Dr Steven Collins, the director of the dig. It is John's desire to help others understand how archeology can "color" in the history of the Bible and as such lend veracity to it's theological and moral principles and teachings.

Another of his current concerns is to teach young people so that they will have a better understanding of how the separate domains of religion, philosophy, and science overlap. Each makes a contribution to the development of one’s worldview. It is his desire to encourage all who will listen that Christianity gives valid explanations for the past, a purpose for the present, and a hope for the future.[1] He and his wife, married for 36 years, both continue to work in pro-life activities. Their 3 children also serve God.
