Dr. Donald B. DeYoung is an avid creation scientist and educator specializing in astronomy and physics. He holds an emeritus science faculty position at Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana following a career in teaching and research. He chaired the Department of Science and Mathematics at Grace College and has taught at Grace College since 1972. Sabbatical travels have taken him to San Diego, Europe and the South Pacific. [1] [2] Don is a graduate of Michigan Tech (B.S., M.S.), Grace Seminary (M.Div.), and Iowa State University (PhD, physics). He has written 21 books on Bible-science topics including object lessons for kids.

Dr. DeYoung is a Fellow and past president of the Creation Research Society with over 1,700 members worldwide. The CRS funds research, operates a lab in Arizona and publishes books and a technical Quarterly journal. He gives lectures on many creation topics including astronomy, intelligent design, the Genesis Flood, and dinosaurs. Don strongly believes that the details of nature are a powerful testimony to the Creator’s care for us. Don has conducted workshops for children with hands-on Bible-science activities. He has also written and spoken for the organization Answers in Genesis. [3]

Dr. DeYoung is a member of the Creation Research Society and the Indiana Academy of Science.

Don and his wife Sally have three married daughters and ten grand and great-grandchildren. His activities include kayak-fishing and wilderness backpacking.

His books include Thousands not Billions (2005), Discovery of Design (2009), Astronomy and the Bible (2010), Our Created Moon (2010) and 77 Science Activities for Kids (2013).

Dr. DeYoung's background includes a Master of Divinity theological qualification. [4]

My scientific belief in creation is largely based on two thermodynamic laws of nature. The first law states that energy is conserved or constant at all times. This rule ensures a dependable and predictable universe, whether for stars or for human life. The second basic law…describes unavoidable losses in any process which involves the transfer of energy. Secular science has no satisfactory explanation for such laws of nature, and these laws are entirely consistent with the biblical, six-day creation. [5]

Title Descriptions
Discovery of Design
(Video Available)
Scientists frequently look to nature for ideas on new products and solutions to problems. A classic example is Velcro, found in feathers and cockleburs. Several design examples will be presented from animals, plants, and nonliving objects. These examples, present since creation, defy evolutionary explanations.
Current Events in Creationist Astronomy
(Video Available)
Ten questions will be covered including, Is there life in space? Did an asteroid kill the dinosaurs? What would change on earth if there was no moon? Will the world end in 2012? The answers to such questions strongly support the creation worldview.
Creation of the Moon Discussion of lunar recession, cratering, etc.
A Walk Through the Creation Week Science insights for each of the days of creation.
The Case for Creation Creation and evolution worldviews concerning origins, biological change, design, and age.
The Genesis Flood Description of the global extent of the Flood and Ark details.
The Fourth Day Detailed description of the sun, moon, and stars.
Dinosaurs and Creation Dinosaur insights from the Bible and fossils.
The Age of the Earth Bible and science data which supports a recent supernatural creation.
Weather and the Bible Biblical and evolutionary views of the weather in the past, present, and future.
