Creation Bus
The Creation Bus was a ministry conducted by Creation Ministries International in Australia for 17 years.
Australia is a large continent with a small population, and there are many small towns a large distance from the relatively few population centres. To cater for these rural towns a converted Adelaide bus was used as a mobile home by husband-and-wife team Peter and Cathy Sparrow who spent about eight months of every year travelling from town to town with the creation message.
The bus towed an enclosed trailer which contained a Volkswagen "Beetle" called the "Creation Bug" that could be used for local trips and as a backup if the bus broke down.
The Creation Bus started operating in 1992, and was retired in 2009. In that time, it travelled 230,000 kilometres (143,000 miles), visiting 1,600 towns and ministering to 180,000 people at 2,500 meetings.
The Ark Van now conducts much of the ministry formerly undertaken by the Creation Bus, although Peter and Cathy Sparrow still do some ministry tours for CMI without the bus.
