Claim CI002:
- Intelligent design has explanatory power, especially given Dembski's "explanatory filter." It accounts for a wide range of biological facts. This makes it scientific.
Source: Dembski, William A., 2001. Is intelligent design testable?
CreationWiki response:
Talk Origins is totally misrepresenting the source, for example there is reference William Dembski's "explanatory filter." At best this is an over simplification of the article. The article deals mainly with a comparison between intelligent design and evolution with regards to testability.
- Falsifiability:
- Intelligent design - Yes.
- Evolution ------------- No.
- Confirmation:
- Intelligent design - Yes.
- Evolution ------------- No.
- Predictability:
- Intelligent design - No, intelligence is by nature unpredictable.
- Evolution ------------- No.
So when it comes to testability intelligent design does better than evolution.
