In 1936, Hardwicke Knight was kidnapped on Ararat but later released. While lost on Ararat, he found timbers of dark, soft wood. This was on the north side of the mountain, just below the ice pack.

Just the presence of wood on Mt. Ararat would prove nothing. Before it can be claimed as even possibly part of the Ark it would need to be shown that it could be old enough to be from the Ark. It at least needs to be shown the wood is right type.

For the Ark to have done its job, it would have had to been made of a hard wood, but this wood was soft. Now it could have been a rotten piece of wood, but there is no mention of it being rotten.
