I still don't understand how I should name the images exacly. Please tell me exacly what I have to do.

Not really, I don't know what categories to put specific images in. If I find a random image, of say a tree, what category would I put that in?

Maple is also in the NSCS Student Projects category though.

Creation museum article: translation

Hello, Amanda.

While you were busily adding to the Photo Gallery (and replacing the photo on the front of the article), I was translating the text into Spanish and German using Altavista Babelfish. I fear that I might have made hash of the translation as a result. Anyway, the article now has Spanish and German sidebar links. Let me know if you think that something is missing and I'll try to propagate it as soon as I can.--TemlakosTalk 16:59, 13 October 2007 (EDT)

Creation museum page

I just wanted to see what you thought about directing Creation museum to the Creation Museum and Family Discovery Center, since it is technically called that. Then I could move the actual Creation museum page to List of Creation museums. I think most people will only know the AIG museum is called "Creation museum", since that is the name advertised, and is on the signs and entrance gate. Thanks...

No - lets not. If someone searches for them by that name, they'll find them on the list. All such facilities call themselves creation museums, and many have signs that say that even if that not the official name.

Also, ideally how big does the AIG creation museum gallery need to be?

A bunch - its an important facility and should have good photographic representation. You've done a good job.--Mr. Ashcraft - (talk) 19:32, 13 October 2007 (EDT)

Hello Amorris;

Still pretty new to Creationwiki - I'm assuming you were the one that fixed the "Current events" page and removed those annoying dashed lines that were around everything in the "Start your own Creation ministry" event.

Please tell me; WHAT on earth did you do? I worked at that for quite a while and never did figure it out!

Thanks, Ian

Thanks a bunch Amanda! I copied and pasted from the website, so there was spaces in it; I didn't realize that would make the boxes - thanks for fixing it, and thanks for enlightening me!

Ian

Mike Riddle

Do you know where you got this image? I was going to move it to the pool, but I don't know the copyright info nor the source. --└Amanda M.┘┌talk┐  21:47, 13 November 2007 (EST)

A friend of mine took it while we were attending a talk of Mike's. I uploaded it to the pool for you.
I would like to encourage you to include ICR's events on that page as well. Such a one-sided representation looks like favoritism.

Current events

Amanda--as you seem to be the head current-events editor here, I'd be interested in any creation-oriented events taking place in Europe, and especially France.--TemlakosTalk 10:39, 15 November 2007 (EST)

Translation of "homeschooling" into French

Amanda:

Try "s'instruant en maison" for "homeschooling" in French. French passive verbs are commonly written and expressed reflexively--thus "I teach myself" really means "I am being taught." If I get another ruling (directly or indirectly) from the Academie Francaise, I'll pass it on of course. :-D --TemlakosTalk 19:30, 17 November 2007 (EST)

Your authority

Amanda:

I have some good news that you will probably find very helpful in your efforts on the international sites.

Mr. Ashcraft authorized me to make some database propagations. You don't need to know the details. The upshot is that you now are a Sysop and a Checkuser on every site in CreationWiki, including the Media Pool and every foreign-language site. That gives you the authority, everywhere in CreationWiki, to:

  1. Protect and unprotect pages.
  2. Edit protected pages.
  3. Edit and, when necessary, create system messages (MediaWiki namespace).
  4. Match users to their IP's and IP's to the users who log in from them, in case of trouble.

I have gained that authority as well, so I can help you out if you have a question. I can also help you with Checkuser if you want to play around with that.

Congratulations.--TemlakosTalk 07:20, 21 November 2007 (EST)

L'academie française

I finally found a link to the Academie Française. Here it is.

Among other things, they have at least part of an on-line dictionary, from A to Patte. It's "from French to French," so that might make it slightly more difficult. But it provides some valuable insight into French idiom.--TemlakosTalk 07:39, 21 November 2007 (EST)

Word for user in German

Amanda:

I checked with Ultralingua. That site says that the word for "user" in German is Benutzer, and that's the singular. Are you sure you have a source that says that Benutzer is plural?

By the way: I added a full set of language links to the German current-events (Aktuelle Ereignisse) site. We now have "current events" pages for German, French, and Spanish, as well as English, and they are all interconnected.--TemlakosTalk 10:20, 23 November 2007 (EST)
