Fair Use
Is it OK if I take a picture of an image in a magazine and upload it as "Fair Use"? For example, I received an annual report from AiG that has a picture of their Creation Museum, and I wanted to either scan it or take a picture of it and upload it to CreationWiki. Thanks! --└Amanda M.┘┌talk┐ 19:05, 21 December 2007 (EST)
- A scan would be better - and it could be used under Fair Use, but we must be careful to use a "limited number" from any given source (meaning 1 or 2 at most).
- I also note that the pictures on that page need to be categorized. NOTE: The categorization structure changes through time as pages/pictures accumulate. Either tends to be lumped together under a larger category name until numbers accumulate - when they are then subdivided.
- Given the number of pictures now present for the AIG museum, they should be categorized as [[Category:Creation Museum and Family Discovery Center]]. The museum name would then be categorized under Creation museum, US museum, and the state where it resides. This same type of categorization can be done for all creation museum photos, and for the description pages on both the Pool and US site.
- This effectively means that categories such as the following (creation museum) would only contain subcategories when fully developed. Each picture would be re-categorized to simply the museum name (unless only 1 or 2 photos exist for the museum - and in that case it should just be left under Creation museum).

Calendar
We are considering installing a calendar extension for use on the Current events and other pages. Evaluate these and give your recommendation.

Personally, I'm liking this version. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Calendar_%28Barrylb%29
