There are no fossil ancestors of plants (Talk.Origins)
- The fossil record does not show the origin of any group of modern plants from its beginning.
First of all, Morris' book predates all of Talk.Origins references by at least 24 years, so the worst they have proved is that it is out of date.
Second, this claim is a paraphrase (by Talk.Origins) of a quote used by Morris of an evolutionist from an older book, so again the most they have proved is that the claim is out of date.
Based on comparative morphology, molecular genetics and the assumption of evolution, evolutionists have found evidence that they see a suggesting relationships among groups of modern plants, and thereby their origin. However, they show no links between these groups that do not assume evolution to begin with. Using comparative morphology and molecular genetics to find a relationship presupposes that a relationship exists. But similarities—the evidence for a relationship—are also expected if the organisms had a common designer.
