Talk:Second law of thermodynamics

This page doesn't seem to be fleshed out yet. It ends in a claim that evolution violates the 2nd law, we should cite a particular example, which would require identifying a particular closed system and an interaction that violates the 2nd law. Deans 18:36, 28 February 2007 (EST)
- The second law applies to closed systems. The Earth isn't a closed system. Energy is created and destroyed on earth all the time, and order increases all the time. Your application of the second law is incorrect and should be changed... everywhere on your site. That's going to be a lot of work, but I'll help if you want me to.-αmεσg (visit me at RationalWiki!) 23:36, 20 October 2007 (EDT)
- This is a red herring. The second law of thermodynamics applies to all systems at all times. It is normally stated for isolated systems, because it is simpler that way, but exchanging matter and/or energy with the surroundings does not negate the laws of thermodynamics! ~ MD Otley (talk) 22:47, 31 December 2007 (EST)
