Biography?

Should this page be in the Biography category? Yes, it contains a list of links to biographical articles, but this page is not itself a biography. Pharos 18:20, 22 March 2007 (EDT)

Purpose?

What is the purpose of this page? Is it to list all the Bible people we have articles on? In that case, I'm sure there is a Category that does just as well. Is it to list the Bible people we want to have articles on? In that case, it needs updating. I would like to help this page "be all it can be," but I don't understand why it's here. ~ MD Otley (talk) 23:18, 31 December 2007 (EST)

To organize Bible articles into groups (i.e. People in the Old Testament, New Testament, Things, etc.). It is not meant to be a "wanted articles" page, but can contain links to empty pages expected to be written. --Mr. Ashcraft - (talk) 15:44, 1 January 2008 (EST)

IMHO, I think this would work better as a Category page, with subcats instead of columns. That would reduce the work in updating it, as any article would naturally have the appropriate category(ies) added to it, and it would automatically be alphabetized, making the list more useful. Then the top part of the page could be used as a wish list, as is loosely implied by the link from the "How can I help?" page. What do you think? ~ MD Otley (talk) 11:51, 4 January 2008 (EST)

This page can be customized and used in ways that categories can not and should be retained and updated.

However, I do agree that the Bible character category should now be done away with and those pages assigned to one of the following subcategories instead, which are then placed in the Bible category.

• [[category:Biblical person]]
• [[category:Biblical place]]
• [[category:Biblical group]]
• [[category:Biblical artifact]]

Each article should also be assigned to either [[category:Old testament]] or [[category:New testament]]
