Stone
There are many definitions for stone. Stones can be described as pieces of solid rock nature and, in general, used for construction. Stones can be shaped or finished for a particular purpose, for instance, paving stones, flint stones, gravestones, grindstones and milestones. Stones were used as an unit of measure, like the stones used in Great Britain and Ireland for measuring human body weight or the stones used as weight in the Roman Empire.
Biblical references
The stones commonly referred to in the Bible as found in Palestine are mainly chalk stone, marble and sandstone.[1] Stones were used tor building (Mark 13:1 ) and pavements (2Kings 16:17 ). Large stones were used to commemorate an remarkable event (Genesis 28:18 ). Also stones were used as ammunition for slings (1Samuel 17:40 , 1Samuel 17:49 ).
