The Crested Pigeon (Ocyphaps lophotes) is found in mainland Australia and is the only member of the Genus Ocyphaps of the family Columbidae. [1] The bird is about a foot long, has a call that sounds like "Whoop!" and makes a whistling noise with its wings when it takes off.[1]
