Allosaurus (Latin: different lizard) belongs to a group of dinosaurs called Theropods. The name Theropoda means beast-footed. Within this group were some of the most ferocious animals that have ever roamed the earth. The Theropods walked on two legs (bipedal) and were meat eaters (carnivores). They also had grasping hands and clawed digits.
