Former atheist who was converted by the grace of Christ 5 years ago. My background and interests primarily revolve around the Augustinian traditional of the ancient Catholic Church, which scarcely exists in the Roman Church with the advent of the Council Of Trent. I currently attend an Old Catholic Church that affirms the 1889 Declaration of Utrecht, but has rejected many of the liberalized political stances of the Old Catholic Church of Holland that were adopted when they went into Union with the Lutheran Church of Sweden and the Anglican Church. Apart from Anselm, Aquinas, and a few other Medieval theologians, the principle influences on my theology mostly include members of the dissenting Jansenists of the 17th Century, including Bishop Cornelius Otto Jansen, Antoine Arnauld, Pasquier Quesnel and Blaise Pascal.
