Sign the Academic Freedom Petition

Across America, the freedom of scientists, teachers, and students to question Darwin is coming under increasing attack by self-appointed defenders of the theory of evolution who are waging a malicious campaign to demonize and blacklist anyone who disagrees with them. (See Anticreation in public schools)

You can help by signing the Academic Freedom Petition and stand up for free speech and free scientific inquiry.

“We, the undersigned American citizens, urge the adoption of policies by our nation's academic institutions to ensure teacher and student academic freedom to discuss the scientific strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian evolution. Teachers should be protected from being fired, harassed, intimidated, or discriminated against for objectively presenting the scientific strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian theory. Students should be protected from being harassed, intimidated, or discriminated against for expressing their views about the scientific strengths and weaknesses of Darwinian theory in an appropriate manner.”

If you agree with this statement please sign the petition and join other Americans in supporting academic freedom. Petitions will be delivered to appropriate state and federal education officials and departments.

Macroevolution

Macroevolution is a theoretical process thought to produce relatively large (macro) evolutionary change within biological organisms. The term is used in contrast to minor (micro) changes. The concept was introduced due to the absence of transitional forms between higher taxa (i.e. phyla, classes), which is in stark contrast to the expectations of Darwinian gradualism. It was therefore proposed as a mechanism responsible for large-scale patterns of evolution, which are distinct from the small-scale factors that contribute to gradual change within populations.

Nebula theory

The nebula theory is the most generally accepted evolutionary model for formation of the solar system from a cloud gas and dust particles known as a nebula. In short, the process starts with a rotating cloud of gas and dust that contracts and flattens to form a disk around a star forming at its center. Planets grow from the dust and gas in the disk and are left behind when the disk clears.

Artist's conception of an extrasolar planet

Some evolutionists assert that planetary and galaxy formation take millions of years. However, in 2004, the Spitzer Space Telescope detected a clearing of dust around a star that is "only" a million years old. They theorize that the object that cleared the dust is a planet at least as large as Jupiter. This would be (by evolutionary standards) the youngest planet ever observed.

Bacterial flagellum

The flagellum is a molecular motor (nanomachine) used by microscopic organisms, such as bacteria and protozoans, to propel themselves through an aqueous medium. The bacterial flagellum is a helical filament that rotates like an outboard motor, while the eukaryote flagellum is a whip-like structure that lashes back and forth.
