White Sands National Monument is an amazing monument to the Biblical flood, which lies in the South Central area of the New Mexico in the USA. Massive dunes of a pure gypsum engulf 275 square miles of the New Mexico desert. It is the largest gypsum deposit in the world. Gypsum is a mineral known as an evaporite. Large evaporite deposits like the one at White Sands are a clear testaments that the landscape was covered in massive quantities of water that evaporated leaving the sediments behind. Evaporite deposits, such as gypsum, can be found all over the world.
