Josh you need to check your facts. The following statement is not supported by your references. Also, be sure that the content elsewhere is yours and not written by someone else.
Monocotyledons are gymnosperms, meaning that they use "naked" seeds to reproduce. The seeds are not inside a protective ovary(fruit).
