Factitious
Believe it or not, "factitious" is a perfectly good word in the English language.
A fictitious person, place, or thing is something that someone invented and everyone knows that he invented it, including him.
A factitious person, place, or thing is something that does not actually exist, but a lot of people think it does exist.
Therefore, factitious is the proper word for Nemesis, because though no one has ever seen it, some people, who take themselves seriously, really think it's out there. Rather like Vulcan, or the modern concepts dark matter and dark energy.--TemlakosTalk 02:53, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
