The Questioning of the reference to Jehu

On Chronological grounds (as a supporter of Ussher's dates for the Kingdom years) the timing of this in related to Ahab's reign does make me desire to agree with the change. But the Argument presented here are inadequate.

1. The Assyrians seem to have known the Northern Kingdom as Omri regardless of the actual dynasty following Omri's reign, even their inscriptions related to the time of the Deportation of the Northern Kingdom. The Assyrians being simply wrong here is also possible.

2. Is a matter of opinion on his character, that is not very useful scholarly.

If someone can present good evidence that Jehoram is an equally accurate reading I'll be very pleased. But to the best of my powers of observation, the inscription includes the Ayin that ends Jehu and wasn't in Jehoram.--MithrandirOlorin 17:52, 24 March 2014 (EDT)
