I asked the editor of Investigator Magazine if this article could be reprinted here. He gave permission but said I would have to give an attribution. I want this portion of the article to be at CreationWiki so I could cite it for the Bible scientific foreknowledge article.
Here is what I wrote at the bottom:

The article is not properly formatted. Before protecting it, I would tag it for needing clean-up.
What is the point in mirroring either of these articles here, when you could just as easily cite them on their site?

It would be better for you to write a similar article yourself, perhaps using the title global warming.

- I agree. Wikis are for open editing. There's no point in adding an article to a wiki and then locking it (unless the article is presented for peer review), particularly when the article is available elsewhere. Ungtss 02:26, 1 January 2006

re: oceanography article:
I wanted to just use this excerpt because the original article has old earth views and I ascribe to a young earth. By just quoting an excerpt I avoid the old earth views.
I didn't want to write an article myself but just use the science references of this article as my knowledge of global warming and rising ocean levels is moderate and not to in depth.
re: lion article

Various problems
The sea is frequently used in the bible as a metaphor for the nations other than Israel. The cited reference in Luke is not sufficiently specific to be safely attribited to global warming. It is a common error to give too much weight to the events and fads of one's own time. If you allow the bible to interpret itself, this prophecy is most likely to refer to international turmoil. We had a great fear of that in the 1950's and 1960's when the threat of nuclear war seemd imminent. With various Moslem nations acquiring nuclear weapons, this fear may rise again. No doubt other events will occur to cause panic among the nations.
Jewish control of Jerusalem is not complete. The temple mount -- the most important bit -- is still under Moslem control. "Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." The times of the Gentiles also include the church age. WHen all the elect of the Gentiles are in the church, the focus of God's action will switch back to Israel; at that point we should expect the rapture of the church.
Past history of sea-level change:
there is plenty of evidence of large rises of the sea-level in the past. For example, there are drowned streets and buildings in the sea off Malta and off Japan (seen in a TV programme a few years back). It seems clear that continents must have been connected by land bridges in the past, so the sea must have risen perhaps 200 metres between the end of the flood and New Testament times (Caesarea Philippi was a port then and is at substantially the smae level now).
I agree that the current panic about human causes of global warning are probably overblown, but variations in the sun's output could easily cause warming. It seems clear that the climate has been a good deal warmer in the past and cooled down substantially from about the sixteenth century.
Style:
The article is written in the first person, which is inappropriate to this Wiki. Rather than incorporating an article from elsewhere, you should write a new article summarising the content. Oelphick 23:47, 31 August 2006 (CDT)
