Talk:Ionic crystal

In the 'Structure' section there is this sentence.

For the binding of the structure, it doesn't need direction because they use strong ions which are electrostatic.

I am not a chemist and am not sure what the writer is saying, but it doesn't seem clear to me. Can anyone help?
