The waters continued to rise for 150 days after the Flood began.
This is a common statement - but not strictly consistent with the text. The 150 days is the length of time from when the flood began to the point when the ark came to rest (5 months).
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month.
Genesis 8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
