Talk:Cacao

I feel there is a problem with the starting phrase:

Cacao is best known for being the plant from which cocoa and chocolate are made. Cacao has been cultivated since before Christ in Africa,

I can find no where that says that Cacao was cultivated anywhere but South America before the Europeans entered South America. I am presuming that the author meant to put South America, but Africa somehow was placed. [1] --John Baab 20:40, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

I am having trouble checking the information in the web sites cited because they are in Korean (maybe Japanese?). I was having trouble checking some of the facts noted, and did not come close to finishing. Anyone who has some knowledge about chocolate could really help here.--John Baab 21:46, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
