Date of Creation in The Annals of the World

What does everybody think of the new section I have created? It lists all the assumptions that Ussher made for calculating the date of Creation, including the key disputed dates of:

Not to mention the reckoning of the king lists in I and II Kings.

What I'd really like to do is build another chronology by correcting any of Ussher's assumptions that we can reasonably declare to be mistaken.

Comments? Suggestions? --Temlakos 21:00, 23 December 2006 (EST)

Sounds like a great idea, I think all of your articles are very well written and needed. So, I am sure whatever article you make will be fine. To me at least. --Tony Sommer 13:54, 8 July 2007 (EDT)

Seasons

In Ussher's chronology, each season has a letter.

a = Autumn

b = Winter

c = Spring

d = Summer

Conversion of AD to AM

Since there is no zeroth year, we must consider BC dates negative in this manner:

(year)AD = -( -1 + (year)BC )

In this reckoning, 4004 BC is -4003 AD.

The distance formula for one dimension is:

Distance = ((pointfinal-pointinitial)^2)^(1/2)

So, the year AM should be:

(year) AM = | (year) AD - (-4003) AD |

For the year 2008 (as of this fall):

(year) AM = | 2008 - (-4003) |

(year) AM = | 6011 |

(year) AM = 6011 AM

Currently, as this is summer of 2008 and not fall, the year is 6010d AM.
