Talk:Amino acid

Hydrophilic v. hydrophobic: the word 'hydrophobic' suggests not merely that something does not attract water but that it repels it. Is the latter a better description of hydrophobic amino acids?

Histidine and arginine

Histidine and arginine are two amino acids that are only used in children because these acids are not fully developed when they are in children.

I can't make sense of that sentence. Does it mean that only children produce these amino acids? or that children need them to be supplied in food but adults do not? unsigned comment by Oelphick (talkcontribs)

The latter is indeed a better definition of hydrophobic. I'll have to defer to the author as to the meaning of the other sentence. I left her a note already.
