On alkali metal, it stated that caesium is extremely rare and there is only about 1 pound on the whole earth. --Chemicalinterest (talk) 11:11, 3 December 2010 (PST)
- I see, however, what source is claiming that caesium is not rare and that there is NOT 1 pound of it on earth? If we find that your sources are indeed correct, I am sure we can adjust the article somehow.
- I see you already edited the article, cool...--Tony 13:05, 3 December 2010 (PST)
- The first source is absolute obviousness...Many pounds of gold have been mined and caesium is more common than gold. The English Wikipedia article states that there is 2x more caesium than silver. I don't think that there is 1/2 pound of silver on the earth.
- Maybe I should have added a source, but it seemed so obvious to me that it wouldn't really need a source.
- What happened: I think that they confused caesium with francium, which is an unstable radioactive element and is very rare. Look at "Occurrence", "Natural" at the article francium at English Wikipedia. This actually states that there is only about 30 grams of francium in the whole earth's crust.
