At the Tower of Babel, all people speaking a common tongue were suddenly cursed with various tongues. This is because all language is supernatural. It is a supernatural gift from the Creator for mankind's communication with God and with other humans.

As ''signs'' are associated with language, theologians have speculated that the son of perdition will perform language-based miracles just as he will change times and laws for his own glory {{Bible ref|book=Daniel|chap=7|verses=25}}.
