Ovum

A sperm attempts to penetrate the ovum coat to fertilize it.

An ovum is the female reproductive cell produced in the ovary, called an egg in that contains a yolk. Its diameter measures 0.1 mm. When it becomes deposited into the ovary and the sperm from the male has fertilized it, it then grows and develops into the same species.
