Dreams of Jesus

The Bible records Jesus showing Himself through dreams and visions to communicate and guide. Many people report in modern times having dreams of Jesus in which He communicates to them or teaches them often pointing them to His words in the Bible or teaching them His words. Whether they are authentic dreams of Jesus showing Himself or not is debated. Jesus warned that false christs will appear in attempt to lead astray. This is an ongoing list of reports and testimonies that a person has a dream where they saw someone they knew to be Christ and He guided them to Himself, or in more general terms a dream that they knew to be from God where He led the recipient to the Bible's teaching.

Nabeel Qureshi

In his book Seeking Allah Finding Jesus Nabeel records his three dreams he had received in part 10 chapters 48,49, and 50.

• The first dream is with heavy imagery that was interpreted by an islamic dream interpretation book his mother owned and was a message that Nabeel was questioning his religion, that islam was not a natural part of the world. His friend called it out for being deceptive and unable to speak for itself, or provide proof. Islam instead attacked Nabeel and his friend's message provided him salvation from islam.

• The second dream Nabeel asked to be shown something that needed no interpretation. He saw that he was outside of a narrow door and there was a wedding feast on the inside of the doorway and his friend David Wood was sitting inside the room of the wedding feast with his eyes transfixed and looking to Nabeel's left. Nabeel could not enter and David said Nabeel had not responded to the invitation.

This dream needed no interpretation as it was already recorded in Luke 13:22 "The Narrow Door" and is also teaching Matthew 22:1-14 and Luke 14:15-24

• The third and final dream was Nabeel sitting in the back of the mosque on a staircase that led out of a mosque on the first step. The mosque began filling up with people who all sat on his left on the carpet floor and beneath him and none sat on his right. Nabeel expected the imam to go to the front but he did not. The imam sat behind him and below him to his left. He was wearing white but all were sat waiting from someone who would never show up. His mother interpreted the dream with the islamic dream book again and said that the imam wearing white was showed he had pure intentions in his heart but that he sat on the carpet showed he would give a false report. That Nabeel was above everyone else by sitting on the first step showed he was more knowledgeable than the others about God and that the room filled up over time showed Nabeel was going to become a scholar about God.

All of these things came to fruition in Nabeel's life in that he knew more than other muslims about the Bible and the uncomfortable truth about islam and that Nabeel became a preacher and evangelist of the Gospel years later.

In his second book No God But One: Allah or Jesus? Nabeel includes an encounter he had with a woman who had dreamt of Jesus telling her to go to a specific church to learn the truth about Him, page 71:

• "She responded that, just five weeks prior, she had seen Jesus in a dream. He told her to go to a specific church in her town to learn the truth about him. At the church, a woman befriended her and shared the gospel with her. Without hesitation, she renounced her islamic faith and accepted the good news of Jesus. Since that day, she had learned all she could about God, and when her friend found out I was speaking at the Christian college, she brought her along."

Sy Garte

Sy Garte is a retired PhD biochemist who is biologically Jewish but was raised atheist. He reports on Capturing Christianity he had two dreams that led him to ultimately accept Christ. The first dream he says he was not even thinking of belief of Christianity at all.

• In the first dream he was hanging from a cliff. He was terrified of heights and he couldn't climb up, hanging on with his hands. He cried out for help and he heard a voice say "Just let go". At first he refused replying he would fall but the voice said again "Just let go". Once he let go the world turned 90 degrees so he was no longer hanging but was laying with his chest on the ground. There was a man standing there who was the man who said "Just let go.".

After waking up he did not at first know it was Jesus but later on realized it was and what he was being told to let go of was all of his baggage in life that prevented him from considering God.

His second dream came at a later time. At this time he had not yet read the Gospel.

• He had a dream walking around a walled garden trying to get in. He could not get in. It had very steep walls but no matter how hard he tried he could not get in. He kept walking around the garden and saw a man who asked "what's the matter with you". Sy replied "I want to get in and I can't climb over." The man replied "Well then use the door, there it is." (at this point in retelling his dream Sy begins to cry) Sy opens the door and walked in and there was the garden.

Mr. Garte says when he then went to church for the first time he saw a picture of Jesus knocking on the door and learned of Jesus' words "knock, and it shall be opened unto you" This dream also teaches of Jesus words "'Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. ... 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.'"

Sister Samra

At the Our Strong Tower conference 2023 at the end of session 1 sister Samra gave her testimony. When she began studying on her own she received a vision of Jesus

• It was very bright and a lot light. She sees Jesus facing her and He's standing on the left side and He says "read the Bible". She asks "what should I read in the Bible" and Jesus responds "Read John 4". After this she wakes up.

After waking up she grabs her phone to read John 4 and the time is 3:33AM which she says the Lord put on her heart that the Trinity is true. Her friend told her he had been praying for Jesus to give her a dream for two years. She did not understand why Jesus was on her left side. Jesus was not in front of her. She was upset by this because she was raised in a shame and honor culture where if someone does not face in front of you when talking to you then that is shameful. She did not understand this for two years and her husband corrected her Jesus was not islamic He was not standing in reference to shaming her. That night she understood that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. If Jesus, facing her, is then on her left that means she was standing in front of the Father. She says she began crying and had never felt such love like this. God turned something shameful into something of His love.

CRU Bibles Request Newsletter

A newsletter from Campus Crusade for Christ International (CRU) from October 20th 2023 requesting funding for Bibles list an encounter where the muslim who arrived at their booth confessed to having dreams about Jesus and came to their booth wanting answers:

• "One seeker came to the booth, explaining that he had been dreaming of Jesus and was now looking for answers. And in another nation, another man approached Cru missionaries with a similar story: He kept having dreams of Jesus and wanted answers. This man was an extremist. But when Cru missionaries shared God's Word with him and explained the gospel, he came to know Jesus!"

An update from the same Bible Drive issued on February 15th 2024 provided an example of the people who come to the booth:

• "But still, Amir summoned the courage to enter the booth and have a conversation with a Cru missionary. As the minutes went by, he shared more and more: He had been dreaming about Jesus. He wanted to know what it meant. Could we help him?"

Help The Persecuted

On Help The Persecuted's Prisoners of Hope Podcast Episode Titled Evangelizing Al-Qaeda (Part 2) One guest who is a front-line worker for media outreach correspondence in the middle east told of a whole town calling in to the ministry to ask about Jesus after the whole town, on the same night, saw the same dream about Him. Jesus converted the whole town in a single night.

Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Calendar 2023

In the 2023 Voice of the Martyr's prayer calendar for Thursday January 25 the entry records a dream of Jesus from an Iraqi:

• "Pray for Nader, a muslim teenager who asked for a Bible after having dreams about Christ."
