Mythology (from the Greek μυθος (mythos) a tale) refers to any collection of tales once told as fact but now regarded as fiction.

Mythology is usually associated with a pagan religious tradition. Almost every ethnic group has some traditions of pagan gods, and tales of the deeds of those gods, human beings, called heroes (or in feminine, heroines), who interacted with them, and occasionally dragons or other monsters.
