Summary
Mangrove Skipper (Phocides pigmalion)
A friendly mangrove skipper perched near the observation platform that overlooks the little mangrove swamp at Frenchman's Forest Natural Area in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The Red Mangrove is their larval host plant. The royal blue highlights vary in intensity with the angle of illumination. I have never seen a caterpillar but they are quite stunning as well.
