Summary
Hagfish.
Pacific hagfish have cartilaginous, eel-like bodies that are often dark brown, tan, or gray. They lack jaws, fins, and scales, but are able to eat by tearing meat from dead or trapped fish. Hagfish often enter the bodies of large fish through the mouth or anus and eat them from the inside out, leaving only the bones behind. Since they have no jaws, they sometimes tie themselves in a knot to act as leverage for tearing meat from a carcass.
