Summary
"Brown bears are also called Grizzly Bears throughout much of their range in North America. They also occur in parts of eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. Kodiak Bears are very large Brown Bears, some as large as 780kg, found on Kodiak Island along the southern coast of Alaska.
They have poor eyesight but well developed senses of smell and hearing. Brown Bears eat grasses, moss, bulbs, tubers, fungi, insects and meat when it is available. They may travel hundreds of kilometres to reach favoured food supplies. These migrations include stops at salmon runs and areas where berries are plentiful."
