Summary
Chemical agent identification sets contained glass ampoules, vials or bottles (shown) containing 4 ounces or less of chemicals or chemical agent. The sets enabled military and civilian personnel to learn safe handling and identification of chemicals and chemical agents. The Rapid Response System, a mobile treatment system used for on-site destruction of these samples, recently completed the larger of its two campaigns, destroying 4,906 of the 5,387 items in the arsenal’s inventory. This bottle is from a CAIS known as a "toxic gas set" and contains live sulfur mustard agent (HD). (Photo courtesy U.S. Army)
