Summary
kingdom: Animalia phylum: Arthropoda subphylum: Hexapoda class: Insecta order: Hemiptera suborder: Heteroptera infraorder: Pentatomomorpha superfamily: Pentatomoidea family: Pentatomidae genus: Eurydema
This capture was taken in August. What we have here are shield bugs at various stages, from nymphs to full-grown adults. These ornate little critters were all over the place, but showing an obvious preference to this specific type of plant. Sorry, I'm not good with plants, I don't know what it is... it grows in the wild, sprawled on the ground, and its fruit looks like a miniature watermelon.
